What Is A TRX Machine?
The TRX System (also referred to as Total Resistance Exercises) is a type of suspension training that relies on specialized equipment called a TRX machine. It was developed by a former US Navy Seal and is a form of exercise that uses body weight exercises to help develop strength, flexibility, balance and core stability in one exercise program.
The program requires the use of the TRX Suspension Trainer which is a device that leverages gravity through a series of pulleys and resistance cables in order to use the body weight of the user as part of its exercises. The designers state that the device draws on research undertaken in the military, professional sports and academic institutions focusing on body movement as well as the experience gathered by the designers who have worked with many athletes, coaches, service members, first responders, trainers and others that rely on physical fitness as part of their role.
