Family Reading Has Big Benefits

It can be hard to spend time with family while balancing education and other obligations such as a career, errands and the like. Luckily, there are ways to combine some of these. Family reading allows the family to spend quality time with one another while boosting their child’s reading skills. Statistics indicate that children who come from homes in which reading together regularly are more likely to be on appropriate grade level or beyond, enjoy reading and are more likely to do better in school overall. Another great thing about sitting down with a book with the family is to allow time for bonding. This may be especially so for busy working households in which time is a factor. Reading together does not require a huge time commitment either. As a matter of fact, just a few minutes a day can add up to some big results.
