What Is Clean Beauty?

Clean beauty refers to using beauty products that are created mindfully and are produced without any ingredients that have been proven to be, or are suspected of being, toxic. They should also not have been tested on animals. In addition the ingredients must have been ethically sourced and made with the health of the environment in mind (as well as the health of the body).
Among the ingredients that should not be found in beauty products are pthalates. These have been banned in the EU but are sometimes found in skin care products sold in the US. They are used to help cosmetics penetrate the skin and extend the shelf life of fragrances. They are, however, highly toxic when absorbed through the skin and have been found to damage the reproductive system in both genders; for men specifically, they negatively affect fertility and genital development.
