Gourmet Food In The Cotswolds

Think of Cotswold gourmet food and you might think of venison, sausages, and artisan cheeses, all of which this picturesque region of England has become famous for. The Cotswolds has become something of a destination for food lovers in recent years, as well as those looking for a slice of traditional English life. The area now boasts several Michelin starred restaurants, and many of the better pubs and hotels pride themselves on the quality of their locally sourced ingredients. Most of the towns have a farmer’s market at least once a week, and these can be excellent places to sample local meats, vegetables and perhaps the Cotswolds’ very own dry gin. Tewkesbury and Cheltenham both have respected food festivals which are attracting more visitors each year, and the area also boasts several craft breweries; they can be visited on the Gloucestershire Ale Trail.
