What Is A Performance Coach?

A performance coach is a person that works with an individual to challenge them to achieve ever higher levels in performing their role or function and enables them to bring out the best in themselves and those they work with. The aim of performance coaching is to help an individual to align their aims and actions to create a desired outcome while building relationships based on respect and honesty with those around them.
A person might need performance coaching when they need to better focus on the goals they are trying to achieve in the short term, to overcome immediate challenges that they are facing or to help with strategies for their continued development in the future. A coach will help the individual to examine new ideas, consider alternative solutions to problems, evaluate their options objectively and to help them make important decisions.
