NDIS Accommodation And Housing

NDIS helps participants with their accommodation requirements. As part of NDIS accommodation assistance it provides help for participants living in inappropriate settings to move into more suitable housing within the community.
In some cases participants in the NDIS are living in inappropriate settings, often because of a lack of support to help them move back into their home or community. This can include people that are living in residential aged care facilities or in hospital or rehabilitation units when they have completed treatment and are awaiting discharge.
The NDIS offers funding to make participants’ homes accessible for this purpose and can help participants live independently through support in personal care and with general household duties. Participants and their families can discuss their needs with an NDIA representative to decide what is required in order to return them to their homes and communities.
