Construction Productivity Improves Project Completion Times

Labor costs make for a major cost in construction projects, not helped by low productivity that is often the bane for project managers.
They, therefore, need to find ways and means to improve construction productivity so that the projects are completed as quickly as possible. One way to do this is to set realistic goals and communicate them clearly to all construction crews. The crews need to be adequately trained and have all the needed skills and must be rewarded regularly for any intermediate targets that they achieve so that it serves as an incentive for further work.
Care must be taken to always make available the necessary machinery and materials for the construction work at the time it is needed. This requires proper procurement and inventory procedures to be in place, and which also must play a part in the planning process.
