Climate Change Disruption Report

The report from the Global Business Coalition (GBC) urges businesses to strengthen supply chains, avoiding climate change disruption. The report also encourages companies to develop and implement a supply chain approach focused on reducing carbon emissions at all points along the supply chain, including manufacturing, processing, transportation, and end-use. The report states that by building a robust and sustainable supply chain for high value, climate-resilient goods, businesses can support efforts to reduce greenhouse gases (GHGs) and promote sustainability.
In the report, GBC outlines three ways that companies can take steps to strengthen their businesses, including building an improved and more sustainable supply chain. These include improving production efficiencies, reducing waste, identifying new markets for business, developing countries, and implementing a global procurement policy. In addition to supporting existing efforts to reduce carbon emissions, the report calls on companies to consider the new opportunities in supply chain management and supply chain policy development.
