About Las Terrenas Samanas

Las Terrenas is a tourist resort town located on the north eastern coast of the Samana Peninsula in the Dominican Republic. It is a popular tourist destination and features miles of unspoilt white sand beaches, tall palm trees and charming pastel-colored fishing boats. Because of its location in the sub-tropical Atlantic Ocean, it enjoys consistent balmy weather with an average temperature of around 77 degrees Fahrenheit with temperatures only varying about 18 degrees between summer and winter.
Tourism is well developed and, aside from its beaches (Bonita, Coson and Las Ballenas), there are a wide range of hotels, clubs, restaurants, bars and shopping areas available for visitors to enjoy. Other natural attractions include the cays offshore which feature underwater caverns such as the Dudu cave.
Founded in 1946, Las Terrenas Samana has grown from a sleepy fishing village into a sophisticated tourist destination and features both natural beauty and a well developed resort infrastructure for visitors to enjoy.
